How we handle your data: Confidentiality and disclosure
Every client has the right to privacy in respect of their data. Disclosure without consent can be distressing for all concerned.
Your data are only shared where necessary (such as safeguarding concerns, if you divulge a threat to the safety of others or suicidal thoughts).
Limited data can also be shared if there is a court order.
Your data will be kept securely for 5 years after completion of therapy for anonymised audit, my professional requirement for clinical supervision as well as possible further review appointments.
However, on written request (standard form), your data can be destroyed at the end of therapy.
Your paper-recorded data will be kept in a locked cupboard.
Your digital data will be protected by password and 2-factor identification.
All your data will be destroyed by Mr Neil Lang of Southview Consulting (UK) in the event of my permanent incapacity.
